Oakland County home sales are up 1..5% from March 2011 at 1,416 sales to March 2012 1,437. The average sale price was up in double digits 20.3% from $97,250 in March 2011 to $117,000 in March 2012!
Oakland County had a large drop in inventory for sale from 8,1049 homes in March 2011 to 6,200 in March 2012. This reduction in inventory is limiting choices for buyers, and helping properties to sell more quickly—there are still hot deals, but they are not lasting on the market long!

[1](MCT)—Periodically and cyclically, the economy will stink, even more so for people who are less experienced, educated or trained, the youngest members of the work force.
The Depression walloped one generation. The recession, oil shortage, and stagflation whipped mine. Many classmates avoided the job market, or the pronounced lack thereof, by diving into grad school and further debt, which drove them toward more lucrative professional if not necessarily innovative endeavors.
